How many personal support workers (PSWs) does Pioneer Elder Care keep on staff per home?

Our staffing ratio is two elder assistants for ten residents on days and evenings with one elder assistant on nights. In addition, there is one Registered Nurse for ten residents on days and a RN on call 24 hrs.

Do you offer memory care?

Yes, in fact we specialize in memory care and welcome residents living with dementia, Alzheimer’s and other memory care needs.

What happens if my needs increase?
Here at Pioneer Elder Care, our homes are designed to support all of your assisted living, nursing and palliative care needs. Other homes use terms like “Aging in Place”, we say come live with us, we’ll take care of the rest.

Are there set schedules for visiting with family and friends?

No. At Pioneer we encourage friends and family members to visit regularly and be involved, with meals, activities or council meetings.

How often can I visit?
Friends and family members can visit as often as they like.

How many guests can a resident invite at once?

The house can accommodate several guests of a resident at any visit in the large open concept family room in addition to the living room.

I live far away. How can I keep in contact with my loved one?
A family member can stay in touch via a house phone (long distance included) and emails.

What is daily life like at Pioneer Elder Care?

Daily life with Pioneer Elder Care is similar to life at home for our residents. Our residents can enjoy a sleep in if they like, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, have visitors drop in to see them and continue their day with what interests them and what they want and like to do.

What happens when my health changes?

Pioneer Elder Care is committed to offering a continuum of care with professionals available to administer 24 hour a day care.

Can a special diet be accommodated?

We can accommodate most therapeutic diets and offer nutritionally balanced meal selections.

Am I required to sign a lease?

No. A tenancy agreement, which is on a month to month basis, will be required to be signed.

Are there additional fees or charges outside of the agreement that we should be aware of?

We pride ourselves on an all inclusive price for services unlike most assisted care nursing facilities that charge additional fees for extra care, i.e. showers, laundry, extra assistance. Only medications and specialty toiletries will be the responsibility of the resident or their family.

What furniture and personal items will I need to provide?

Our home is beautifully decorated and completely furnished but you are more than welcome to provide additional pictures and decorations for your individual room.
